Black tea

Taken after meals to boost one’s metabolism and to stabilize blood sugar levels, or during the day to wake up the brain’s blood vessels, green tea’s EGCG catechins work hand-in-hand with L-theanine, a chemical that boosts the concentration powers of caffeine while also keeping you relaxed.
The most common blends include:
- Sencha. This Japanese green tea infuses whole tea leaves in water and is flash-steamed, keeping it bright-green with a refreshing, light grassy flavor.
- Matcha. The well-loved base of desserts, pastries, cakes, and mochi, the wildly-popular matcha green tea is actually the finely ground powder of green tea leaves. No wonder it tastes so potently earthy!
